Surfer Laird Hamilton
When she heard that none other than Laird Hamilton was going to teach her everything about surfing, Quinty couldn’t be happier. Laird belongs to one of the best surfers in the world. No wonder everybody calls him the “Human Fish”. Laird is teaching Quinty how to stand on her board, and most importantly, how to stay on her board in the sea. Luckily for Quinty, the waves of the North Sea are a lot smaller than the waves in Hawaii.

Laird is literally born with surfing. His father, Bill Hamilton, is the surf legend of the 60s. Laird followed his fathers footsteps and since the age of three, Laird rather spend his free time in the ocean than anywhere else. Nowadays he’s won almost every price in the surfing industry and he started his own surf-clothing line, Wonderwall!

Surfing between jellyfish
It’s not a big surprise that surfing is not the safest sport there is. Laird explains to Quinty that it’s especially dangerous between the corals, the riffs and the jellyfish! He once had a jellyfish inside his pants while he was surfing! That is not the only thing Laird has to worry about. His surfing board often crashes with his body, so he learned to stitch himself! At least this way Quinty doesn’t have to worry about a doctor being around.
