Extreme Buell 1125R motor
Extreme temperatures, extreme bike, extreme speed. Buell’s resident stunt rider Craig Jones braved sub-zero temperatures to set a new world record for the fastest bike on ice. He achieved a top speed of 238 km per hour on a Buell 1125R specially created for this event. Funnily enough this speed was reached with the help of laughing gas.

World premiere
Jones had to work hard for this event. He used the frozen Dellen Lake in Sweden as his practice ground. The only thing separating him and his bike from one million cubic meters of freezing cold water were a few centimeters of ice.

Buell specs
With extreme riding conditions comes the need for extreme equipment and the bike used for the attempt had major modifications. With the injection of Nitrous oxide the Buell 1125R gained an extra 50 bhp and with that extra help he reached his top speed on the 1, 1 km run. Off course you can’t use normal wheels on ice so Craig Jones had custom built spikes attached to his wheels.
