Longines
Watches aren’t just a device to read the time with. Nowadays they are a true fashion statement and when you decide to buy a watch it’s definitely not the same as buying a bag of apples. You have to think it trough and then decide which design you want and what special features it should have.
Switzerland is the Mecca of watches and home of one of the oldest watch brands in the world: Longines, dating back to the 1830’s. Their registered logo, a winged hourglass is also the oldest watch brand in the world. Longines is currently owned by the Swatch Group. Quinty talks to the current president of Longines Dhr. Von Käner.

Swatch watches
Swatch was originally intended to try and outshine the immense popular Japanese companies such as Seiko in the 1960s and 1970s, and to re-popularize analog watches. The launch of the new Swatch brand in 1983 was marked by bold new styling and design. Swatch even introduced the quartz watch to the market and made it their own. Swatch also used synthetic materials such as plastic to differentiate themselves from other watch brands. This combination of marketing and manufacturing expertise restored Switzerland as a major player in the world wristwatch market.

Rado watches
The hardest watch in the world belongs to Rado. They even have a listing in the Guinness Book of records. The entire watch is covered with a small layer of powdered diamonds. Rado is noted for its use of scratch-proof materials, a field in which it is considered a pioneer.
